Virtual worship brings us together in time of crisis.
Zoom to Worship: Our Zoom ID is

We're using technology
to worship together
during the pandemic.

Picture
During the coronavirus pandemic when many of us are sequestered Spirit will continue to worship using technological tools such as live-streaming, Facebook, and YouTube.  Our goal during this crisis is to maintain the closeness and sense of  belonging that are the hallmarks of  our worship at Spirit of the Desert. Each week we will livestream our Sunday worship service to enable you to fully participate in the service almost as if you were there in person. In addition, the service will be posted on YouTube each week for those unable to participate in "realtime." During the week, Father Lee will communicate with congregants via phone and email and publish prayers and reflections until we can meet and worship again face-to-face. If you are unable to join us for a live-streamed service, a virtual version of Morning Prayer is available on YouTube.

Tired of social distancing and virtual worship? We'll be back—as soon as it's safe!

Social distancing is a drag—especially when it forces you to miss church. We know you'll be back as soon as it's safe to gather again. A dancing priest from St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Tifton, GA performs a parody of "You'll Be Back" from the Broadway musical, Hamilton, turning King George's threat into a joyful promise.

Spirit of the Desert needs your pledges and contributions.

The fact that we're not able to meet in our regular worship space at the Kayenta Center for the Arts doesn't mean that Spirit can continue to function without your pledges and contributions. There are bills to pay even in the midst of a terrible pandemic. Please help us keep our "virtual" doors open by giving  generously to Spirit of the Desert. Now, more than ever, we all need to support our church with our time, treasure and talents until we can meet "in person" again as a worship community.

Fifth Sunday Ministry continues during "virtual" worship.

As you are well aware, we have not been able to physically meet for worship since March 8.  Because of that, we were not able to have our customary 5th Sunday collection for a designated local charity.  March 29 was the 5th Sunday of that month.  The special collection would have been for Switchpoint.  As the need is especially great during this trying time, we would like to continue our practice of contributing to these organizations. If you would like to make a donation to Switchpoint, please make checks payable to SPIRIT OF THE DESERT with a designation that it is for Switchpoint, and mail it to:    Spirit of the Desert  P.O.
